Hey Guys -
Just thought I'd update you and let you know my thoughts on the whole American Idol experience. I have to say - I never knew so much could come out of 10 seconds appearing on the show, but I'm thankful for it.
American Idol was an amazing experience. I don't regret any part of it (except not checking my keyboard before performing in Hollywood Week), but hey that stuff happens. If there's one thing I've learned from this experience, it is to always stay true to yourself. The music industry is tough, and it can cause an individual to steer away from what they believe in and then they will "follow the crowd". I've been extremely lucky and blessed with a family and amazing friends that support me in everything I do. Without them, without you guys - my supporters, fans, friends.... I would not be anywhere.
You forever have my gratitude and I appreciate all that you guys have done for me. I will continue to make music and share it with the world. American Idol is not the end of the road and "Hollywood is not America" - the wise words of Ferras.
If you want something bad enough, you will not let anything stop you. Don't ever be discouraged or walk away thinking "I'm not good enough", because it's mind over matter in situations like these. Confidence is key, and without that, nobody else will confide in you. And lastly, but definitely not least - do not change for anybody. Being yourself is what people love you for.
Thank you for listening and for all of your support. Love you guys.
Best wishes,
Alyssa
