SUMMER JAM PICS + VIDEO OF "BOTHER ME"

If you missed Alyssa's performance at KISS 106.7 's Summer Jam last week, the station has posted pictures from the event here. The crowd was awesome! Thanks to everyone who came out to the show.

Rochester Insider was there, and put together a video for the Alyssa's new song "Bother Me". It's posted on their site. If you haven't seen the band live recently, this is your first chance to hear the song - it will be appearing on Alyssa's upcoming album.

AMERICAN IDOL EXPERIENCE

Hey Guys -

Just thought I'd update you and let you know my thoughts on the whole American Idol experience. I have to say - I never knew so much could come out of 10 seconds appearing on the show, but I'm thankful for it.

American Idol was an amazing experience. I don't regret any part of it (except not checking my keyboard before performing in Hollywood Week), but hey that stuff happens. If there's one thing I've learned from this experience, it is to always stay true to yourself. The music industry is tough, and it can cause an individual to steer away from what they believe in and then they will "follow the crowd". I've been extremely lucky and blessed with a family and amazing friends that support me in everything I do. Without them, without you guys - my supporters, fans, friends.... I would not be anywhere.

You forever have my gratitude and I appreciate all that you guys have done for me. I will continue to make music and share it with the world. American Idol is not the end of the road and "Hollywood is not America" - the wise words of Ferras.

If you want something bad enough, you will not let anything stop you. Don't ever be discouraged or walk away thinking "I'm not good enough", because it's mind over matter in situations like these. Confidence is key, and without that, nobody else will confide in you. And lastly, but definitely not least - do not change for anybody. Being yourself is what people love you for.

Thank you for listening and for all of your support. Love you guys.

Best wishes,
Alyssa

MUSIC

Music... what a wonderful thing. You know, when I think of music, I think of life. What would life be without music? In my opinion, it would be dull and boring. Then again, we wouldn't know of anything different. Music is like a universal language that just changes everything. It effects your mood, your perspective on things, your style... Now honestly - have you ever gone through a day that music in one way or another hasn't been mentioned? Well, I know I haven't because 1) On the weekdays, Brady sits behind me in spanish and if I don't hear him singing about how he lost his pen, he's singing "Hips Don't Lie" haha and 2) On the weekends - I'm always doing something involving music.

That question really makes you realize just how much music has an effect on your life. It's a beautiful thing that needs appreciation. Plus... without music, I wouldn't have anything to do on the weekends! (Hence my 7 friends on myspace to this point lol).

Anyway, take music and learn from it. Music is the base for so many things and you have to appreciate it in order to get something out of it.

Noww it's time to go sleep after an extremely long weekend.
